American-Italian Cancer Foundation

The American-Italian Cancer Foundation (AICF) in New York, is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded by Italian scientist Umberto Veronesi to support cancer research and control.

Each year, through the International, Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship Program, the Foundation funds the research projects of about 20 young Italian scientists who work under prominent mentors in major cancer research centers throughout the United States.

The fellowship provides promising young researchers with the opportunity to receive advanced training and conduct groundbreaking research at some of the most competitive research facilities in the US.

 

The fellowship is a two year commitment, pending favorable reviews after the first year. Candidates must have completed their advanced degrees within the last three years and be of Italian descent. The deadline to submit an application is March 31st, 2015.
