Medicine and Surgery – MedTech is a newly established six-year Single-Cycle Master's Degree delivered entirely in English, designed to train medical doctors with a solid clinical and biomedical education enriched by advanced competencies in biomedical engineering, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, medical informatics and biostatistics. While leading to the same professional qualification as standard Medicine and Surgery programmes, this course distinguishes itself by integrating technological and engineering disciplines into the medical curriculum. It prepares students to critically evaluate and responsibly apply technological innovation in clinical practice and biomedical research, while maintaining patient-centred care at the core of the medical profession.
The curriculum is built on integrated teaching, early clinical exposure, active student participation, and close interaction between medicine, engineering, and life sciences. An international learning environment, combined with research opportunities and clinical placements, enables students to acquire the expertise required to navigate increasingly multidisciplinary and technologically advanced healthcare systems.
Graduates obtain the Italian qualifying degree in Medicine and Surgery, providing direct access to the medical profession and postgraduate specialisation programmes. Additionally, students may also choose to pursue a second Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or in Biology of Human and Environmental Health by completing specified additional credits, further strengthening their interdisciplinary profile for careers in clinical practice, biomedical research, and technological innovation.

The programme is open to Italian, EU and non-EU students seeking an internationally oriented medical education. In accordance with current Italian and European regulations, the programme consists of six years and 360 ECTS credits, of which at least 60 are dedicated to the mandatory clinical training activities leading to qualification as a medical doctor.
A distinctive feature of the MedTech programme is the opportunity to pursue a second Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or in Biology of Human and Environmental Health through the completion of additional credits and examinations.
